For centuries, lime has been central to building traditions across the world, shaping everything from everyday structures to monuments that define our shared heritage. Today, as conservation practices re-engage with traditional materials, lime is once again at the forefront of how we understand, repair, and build.
This 3-day hands-on workshop at Safdar Jang’s Tomb, Delhi, from 24 to 26 April 2026, offers an opportunity to work directly with lime, understanding its preparation, properties, and application through on-site, material-based learning.
Led by Course Director Ravindra Gundu Rao and organised by World Monuments Fund India (WMFI), the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), and Citibank, the workshop is open to architects, conservation practitioners, engineers, students, and others interested in traditional building materials and techniques.
There is no participation fee, and only a limited number of spots are available. Please share the following details to help us understand your background and interests. Shortlisted applicants…
