Greetings from Pleach India Foundation
Purana Qila (Old Fort) greatly contributes to the heritage character of the capital of India and is located near the famous Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
The outer walls and the fortifications of Purana Qila smack of Mughal and the Suri dynasty architecture. We have at the same time amazing findings within the fortified walls of Painted Grey Ware Culture dating back to as early as 1000 B.C.E through recent archaeological excavations.
For our Pleach Talk this month we have Dr. Vasant Kumar Swarnkar , Director, ASI who is also an expert in the field of Archaeology. Through his leadership in the recent excavations at Purana Qila, our eminent speaker will give us valuable insights into different layers of historical heritage within the fortified walls.
