Responsibilities:
1. Assisting Conservators: You will work closely with conservators to examine, document, and treat artworks, ensuring their preservation for future generations.
2. Conducting Research: Engage in research on materials, techniques, and conservation best practices to enhance your understanding and contribute to the field.
3. Preparing and Maintaining Materials: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of conservation materials and tools necessary for the preservation process.
4. Project Completion: Complete assigned projects and tasks within designated timelines, demonstrating efficiency and attention to detail.
Essential Qualifications:
- A post-graduate degree in conservation, museology, or a related field is required to qualify for this internship opportunity.
- Possess basic knowledge of conservation principles, techniques, and materials.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are essential for managing various tasks effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, ensuring smooth workflow and project completion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, showcasing your technological skills.
- Previous experience with conservation work is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work at additional project sites as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Accommodation at the project site is provided on an optional basis, ensuring convenience for interns relocating for this opportunity.
