The course will introduce the participants the concept of ‘traditional knowledge systems’ (TKS). TKS are creations of diverse contexts created by local communities, which are dependable and dynamic processes, having greatly contributed to the conservation heritage everywhere.
Through various sessions of speakers from across South Asia, the course will showcase case studies related to the use of this knowledge in contexts, such as buildings, protected areas, materials, techniques and other aspects and understand TKS as an approach to conserve heritage.
