Hansraj College's History Department took its students on a field trip to Rakhi Garhi, the largest Harappan site in the Indian subcontinent, to experience the life of an archaeologist and witness the excavation work at the site. Led by head archaeologist Disha Ahluwalia, the students learned about various technicalities associated with archaeology, such as dating and recording techniques, and explored mound numbers 1, 3, and 4. The walk was interactive, and the students had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their understanding of archaeology. The tour also included interactions with local people and a visit to a farmhouse displaying Harappan artifacts. The trip was both informative and enjoyable for the students.
