Union Budget (2023).-24, presented by the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, outlines the vision of Amrit Kaal, which reflects an empowered and inclusive economy. The vision for Amrit Kaal incorporates a technology-driven and knowledge-based economy with strong public finances and a robust financial sector. The economic agenda is Impetus on three priorities: providing ample opportunities for citizens, especially the youth, to fulfill their aspirations, providing a solid impetus for growth and job creation, and strengthening macroeconomic stability.
Four transformative opportunities are identified in the budget, and one is the promotion of tourism in mission mode. The country's immense tourism potential for domestic and foreign tourists holds enormous opportunities for jobs and entrepreneurship, especially for youth. Tourism promotion will be taken up on mission mode with the active participation of states, the convergence of government programs, and public-private partnerships.
The Ministry of Culture 2023-24 budget has a net revenue of 3114.25 crores, a capital of 285.40 crores, and a total of 3399.65 crores.
The Archaeological Survey of India has a total budget of 1102.83 crores.
Libraries, and Archives have a total budget of 338.75 crores.
Museums have a total budget of 136.80 crores.
The Anthropological Survey of India has a total budget of 54.33 crores.
Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana has a total budget of 210.49 crores.
The support to Akademies has a to tal budget of 401.27 crores, support to Museums has a total budget of 357.39 crores, and support to Libraries has a total budget of 106.46 crores. The budget for Buddhist Tibetan Institutions and Memorials is 130.91 crores. The budget for art and culture is 2984.19 crores, and the budget for North Eastern Areas is 65.08 crores.
