Admissions Open for PhD Program at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University!

Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, established by an Act of Parliament in 2007, proudly announces admissions for the PhD program for 2025.

Admission Notification:

1. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to PhD programs in various subjects through a national-level entrance test.

2. Detailed seat availability (department-wise) can be found in the brochure.

   
   

   - In Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology Department seat matrix:

   UR - 8, EWS - 2, OBC - 5, SC - 3, ST - 2,

   
   

3. Application fee: Rs. 700 (General/OBC) and Rs. 500 (ST/SC/PH).

4. Offline entrance examinations will be conducted at the Main Campus (Amarkantak) and Regional Campus (Imphal).

5. Applications submitted through post or offline mode will not be entertained.\

Important Dates:

• Start of online application: February 03, 2025

• Closing date of online application: February 24, 2025

• Downloading of admit cards: February 25, 2025 onwards

• Entrance Examination: March 02, 2025

• Declaration of Results: March 12, 2025

• PhD Admission Interviews: March 17-26, 2025

• Final Selection Result: March 31, 2025

• Documents Verification, Admission, and Fee Submission: April 2-7, 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

• Adherence to UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of PhD Degree) Regulation, 2022.

• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC/non-creamy layer/Differently-Abled/EWS).

• Specific criteria for candidates with a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program.
